It is with great proud and honour that the International Rhodes Marathon and Radisson Blu International Larnaka Marathon announce their twinning. It is an active and effective synergy for the two successful Marathon races that share a common vision and actions.

The two organizing committees have decided on a series of mutual actions such as:- Exchange representative teams
– Host the winners of each event
– Common race packages
– Common hospitality packages
– Common communication events
– Commercial cooperation.

During the next weeks, all the common events will be announced in detail. The International Rhodes Marathon takes place on 29th of April and the first conference of the two Organizing committees will take place then.

On behalf of the organizing committee of Radisson Blu International Larnaka Marathon, Mr. Costas Daltas stated: It is a special privilege for us, to twin with the International Rhodes Marathon. The historicity of Rhodes and all the common elements that it shares with Larnaka set the foundation for an effective and fruitful cooperation. The running community is one the strongest and rapidly developing communities at a European level and the twinning of the Radisson Blu International Larnaka Marathon with the International Rhodes Marathon aims to strengthen the presence of both races in the international running community”.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee of the International Rhodes Marathon, ms. Marieta Papavasileiou, stated: “Our twinning with the Radisson Blu International Larnaka Marathon makes us very happy and proud. The common progress of the two races that take place in two beautiful island regions honours the sports ideal, advancing the values of solidarity and friendship. The two races share a lot of characteristics and I am sure that the twinning will become a stepping stone to improve their standing in the international running community.

We will be delighted to host on the 29th April in Rhodes, the representatives from Larnaka in order to announce officially our cooperation during the 5th International Rhodes Marathon”.
It is worth noting that the 2nd Radisson Blu International Larnaka Marathon will take place on 18 November 2018.
