The 1st Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon proudly announces its support and cooperation with Cyprus Federation of Special Olympics.
The vision of Special Olympics is to provide sports activities and matches in all Olympic sports for people with mental disabilities all year round, giving them the opportunity to improve their physical condition, coordinate their moves to the measures and to the limits of their abilities, while at the same time developing self-esteem, self-confidence, pride, respect and sociability.
Special Olympics aim socializing people with mental disabilities, which number reaches up to 200 million people, the largest disability group in the world.
The Cyprus Olympic Special Olympics Federation will take part in the opening ceremony of the 1st Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon to be held on 9 November 2017, as well with athletes participating in road races, supporting the spirit of “fair play”, equality, respect and solidarity among all people.
At the same time, the 1st Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon will do its utmost to promote the values advocated by Special Olympics Cyprus and to support their needs.
