Meet Steffi, a resilient runner who found solace in running during challenging times this year.
Originally from Germany, she couldn’t have imagined running on the island until recently, given the cold and darkness of her homeland. With each stride, she cherishes the warmth of sunlight under her feet, relishing the freedom and fresh air that running brings.
Running has not only aided her physical health but has also provided her with a sense of liberation for her mind, playing a crucial role in overcoming both mental and physical hurdles throughout the year.
What initially made you interested in running?
Τhis year was very hard. I had times of depression and come out just with running. I’m so happy to be a part of this run and have some fun with you. I’m from Germany and can’t imagine before some month ago to go for a run on your island. Here in Germany it’s actually cold an dark and I’m so excited to have a little bit sunlight and warm times under my feet. Very nice wishes.
Tell us your story, why you run.
I run because I’m outside and have fresh and clean air and to have a free mind.
Please give us more details if you are running for a specific cause this year.
Because of my mental and physical health. I had some problems with both this year.
