In the ceremony that took place in Athens on Monday 19th October, the Sports Marketing Awards were given to the best events and marketing practices to promote sports events and teams.
Among strong competition from Greece, Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon won 14 awards, bringing its total to 36 awards in only three years.
The biggest sporting event that became an institution in the city of Larnaka attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world, the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon was recognized with a number of awards by the committee of the Sports Marketing Awards, placing the event at the top of the competition for another year.
In detail, the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon received the following awards:

- 9 SILVER in the categories: Best in Sports Marketing/Retail Brands, Best Sports Events, Best Content for Sports, Best Strategy for Sales, Best Corporate Website/ e-shop, Best Use of Video, Best Content Marketing in Digital Media, Best Overall Presence on Instagram, for Sports Tourism, Running and Live Well, Best Live Event Coverage and for Original Content/Reporting.
- 3 BRONZE in the categories: Best in Sports Marketing-Retail Brands, Best Strategy for Brand Awareness, Best Integration of Digital Media with Offline and Best Overall Presence on Facebook
Receiving the 14 awards, Filippos Siakavaras, Responsible for the Registration Center of the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon, expressed his delight that the biggest sporting event of Larnaka has managed to be recognized consistently for the past three years at a national and international level.
«We are proud for the success of the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon. This recognition only makes us stronger and is putting the bar even higher for the next years. These 14 awards will travel to Cyprus and will join the other awards that the Marathon has won and I wish to dedicate these awards to the great organizing team of the Event, to those who spent many sleepless nights, setting up this great event, to our supporters, the runners and to the Municipality of Larnaka that as a co-organizer has trusted us and shared our vision to organize and grow the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon».
The Mayor of Larnaka, Andreas Vyras stated: «It is a special honour for us and our City to be hosting the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon for the past three years. These 14 awards are given for the ethos and the will of the organizers and the runners that have achieved the hard and high goals set by the sport itself, with their dedication and their hard work. The Municipality of Larnaka will continue to serve Sports as a social good, setting it at a high priority and not by chance. Congratulations to everyone and we hope we win many more awards! ».
It is worth noting that this year, the Organizing Committee of the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon, taking into account its responsibility and the rules and regulations of the Ministry of Health, as well as the conditions under the pandemic, decided to postpone the 4th Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon for the next calendar year, on Sunday 21st of November 2021. This year, on Sunday 15th November 2012, the original date of the Marathon, a symbolic torch relay will take place as a token of support to the doctors and nurses that are fighting the good fight against Covid-19.
On the other hand, because running never stops, the Radisson Blu Larnaka International Marathon is already taking place as a Virtual Race with the runners taking part in the 5k and 10k Races from anywhere in the globe until the 15th of November.
The Sports Marketing Awards, organized by Boussias Communications, are the most important institution to recognize and award the best Sports Marketing Practices in Greece.
